We are thrilled to announce two major milestones on our journey to bring accessible, dignified transportation to the Lehigh Valley!

 

🚐 The Van Has Landed!

It's official — Empowering Transit has purchased our first wheelchair-accessible vehicle! This is more than just a van. It's the foundation of something we've been building with purpose: a transportation service designed around the people who need it most. For too long, wheelchair users and mobility-challenged individuals in our community have faced limited, unreliable options for recreational activities. That changes now.

 

🏆 Runner-Up at the Pitch Competition

On June 24th, Empowering Transit competed against some incredible entrepreneurs and earned Runner-Up at the pitch competition! We are so proud of how far this vision has come — and so grateful for every person who has believed in it alongside us.

 

📋 What's Next: The Road to Launch

Now the real work begins! Here's what we're focused on as we move toward our official launch:

• Pennsylvania PUC Licensing — We are actively pursuing our Public Utility Commission authority, the required certification to operate as a licensed transportation provider in Pennsylvania.

• Insurance & Compliance — Securing the specialized NEMT-grade coverage that ensures every ride meets the highest safety standards.

• Booking System — Our online booking platform at empoweringtransit.com is tested and ready for when we are!
